Philip Glass' exceptional collaboration with Tana Quartet resulted in the creation of String Quartet No.9, based on the original score King Lear, which was produced for a Broadway production by Sam Gold.
When he was asked to compose incidental music for a Broadway production of King Lear in 2019, he immediately knew he wanted to write for the string quartet, "I know how to write for the string quartet. I love its range of emotion." This concert version of the play's score is his ninth work for the string quartet, a medium he employs to great effect to depict the turbulence, violence and despair at the heart of Shakespeare's classic tragedy.

In celebration of its 30th anniversary, French May Arts Festival proudly presents Harmony of Two Pianos by world-renowned pianists Niu Niu and Théo Fouchenneret, an exhilarating piano duet concert putting your spirit into a journey of harmony and exploration. Inspired by Guy de Maupassant's short story Clair de Lune, musician Olivier Cong collaborates with dance artists Ong Yong Lock and Zelia ZZ TAN to create a dialogue of contemporary music and dance. The show also features voice acting by the ambassador of French May Arts Festival, Karena Lam, based on the script written by her and Olivier. A conversational piece that attempts to understand what beauty is, through devoted and obsessive lenses, to find the truth of pure love in relationships to craft.

The closing concert of the 30th anniversary of French May Arts Festival will see the pure, magnetic alchemy between Keren Ann and the Debussy String Quartet. The instant moment when Keren Ann's raw and soft electric guitar interlaces with the Quartet's elegant, layered strings is truly majestic – a sheer delight for the ears. Together, they will perform all-new original versions of Keren Ann's classics such as Not Going Anywhere, Strange Weather and Jardin d'Hiver.
